Bill Irwin and
Mark O'Donnell's SCAPIN, adapted from Molière and directed by
Tim Browning is now playing at the New Players Theater through July 22. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the production photos below.
Clowning and commedia d’ell arte turn this 17th-century farce of mistaken identities and theatrical mishaps into a chaotic, hysterical romp. In SCAPIN, the rascally title character balances his penchant for madness and mendacity with a promise to help two pairs of young lovers. Perfect for the whole family.
The cast features Todd Covert as Scapin, Austin Andres as Octave, Ralph Scott as Sylvestre, Kelly Hogan as Hyacinth, Luther Center as Argante, Scott Willis as Geronte, David Tull as Leander, Erin Fisher as Zerbinette, Sonda Staley as Nerine, Cory Baker as George, and Dale Bush as Gendarme.
SCAPIN is part of the 2012 New Players Theater Festival, running in repertory with KING LEAR, from June 21 through July 22. SCAPIN performance dates are: JUNE 21-24, 28-30, JULY 8, 12-13 and 20-22. For more information, including ticketing and venue, visit www.newplayers.org.
