CAPA has moved its box office operations into the space previously occupied by the Ohio Theatre gift shop (39 E. State St.). Dedicated to Barbara and Dr. Ralph Lach in 2010, the new CAPA Ticket Center is located just a few feet from its previous location (from the east side of the Ohio Theatre marquee to the west side). The space was redesigned to enhance customer service and provide patrons with a user-friendly and efficient ticket-buying experience.

The sleek, modern design of the new space now offers five customer service stations, one of which is wheelchair accessible. Each station is equipped with a monitor on a swivel arm which can be turned to face the patron, enabling them to comfortably view and choose available seats from a venue’s seating chart.

Technology has been incorporated into the space to inform patrons of upcoming events in CAPA venues. The front window offers interactive components as well as outdoor speakers to engage passersby.

Also on display in the new space is an autographed stage door from the Ohio Theatre. Joe Worman, Ohio Theatre stage manager from 1955-95, asked the big stars who performed at the theatre to sign the stage door, amassing an impressive autograph collection spanning seven doors. Autographs include Carol Channing, Claudette Colbert, Gloria Swanson, Ginger Rogers, Marcel Marceau, Gene Rodenberry, Bette Davis, Vincent Price, Woody Hayes, Muhammed Ali, Phyllis Diller, Victor Borge, Richard Pryor, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Merle Haggard, and many, many more. The doors will be displayed one at a time, being periodically rotated into the space.

“The new ticket center is all about our patrons,” stated Bill Conner, President and CEO of CAPA. “We want to provide them with the best customer service we possibly can, and this state-of-the-art ticket center is a powerful tool towards that goal.”

The CAPA Ticket Center is open from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and 10am-2pm on Saturday. Patrons can purchase tickets to any event scheduled in a CAPA venue (Ohio Theatre, Palace Theatre, Southern Theatre, Lincoln Theatre, Capitol Theatre, or the Riffe Center Studio Theatres).
